Local CPA firm is seeking a professional and driven candidate for a Staff Accountant role. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and the desire to learn and grow professionally.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare tax returns for corporations, partnerships, nonprofits, trusts, and individuals as well as monthly and quarterly tax returns for sales payroll, and other taxes
• Assist clients with various accounting services, including tax planning and related business consulting, and by answering accounting and financial questions after researching and interpreting data
• Work with government agencies in response to notices
• Maintain and update accounting records and files
• Conduct month-end and year-end closures
• Prepare financial statements
• Assist senior level staff in the performance of compilation and review engagements
• Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential

Skills & Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of public accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• CPA license preferred, but not required
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
• Knowledge of accounting software including Quickbooks
• Experience with Prosystem Fx Tax Software is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Professional comunication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously
