Position Overview

A fast growing manufacturer and distributor is seeking a detail-oriented General Accountant to join a fast-paced, high-energy finance team in Brooklyn, NY. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role ensures the accuracy of financial data, supports profitability reporting, and contributes to operational efficiency across accounts payable, receivable, and month-end close.

The Ideal Candidate

• 2–5 years of accounting experience (e-commerce, wholesale, or consumer goods preferred)

• Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures

• Skilled in ERP systems (Acumatica a plus) highly preferred

• Analytical, resourceful, and detail-driven

• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close process, reconciliations, and financial reporting

• Support inventory accuracy and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis

• Monitor shipping/parcel costs for efficiency

• Generate operational and profitability reports (ERP-based)

• Partner with Financial Controller on process improvements and compliance

• Ensure timely, accurate AP/AR postings and reporting

Qualifications & Must-Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or pursuing one

• 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)

• Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and reconciliation processes

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
