We are a growing small town tax & accounting firm seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong accounting & people skills who is looking for a busy but family / team atmosphere.

Position: Full -Time / Part-time Accountant & Office Assistant

Location: Isanti, MN (In person position)

Hours: 18-40 hours per week, some Saturdays during peak season

Compensation: Hourly. Wage based on experience

Responsibilities

Accounting Duties

• Perform Data entry bookkeeping
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements
• Prepare financial reports when requested
• Process payroll, payroll returns and pay payroll tax liabilities
• Prepare and file state sales tax returns
• Maintain organized documentation for all financial transactions and ensure proper filing systems are in place.
• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.

Office Assistant Duties

• Work directly with clients: Answer phones, respond to emails and greet visitors
• Schedule meetings, manage calendars and coordinate office tasks
• Provide general administrative support.
• Other office support duties as needed

Requirements

• Strong communication and people skills
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
• Proficient in QuickBooks (or similar accounting software)
• Experience with payroll processing and sales tax filing
• Strong communication and people skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to also work as a team and fill in when needed
• Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel) is advantageous
