    We are seeking a skilled and driven Accountant/Bookkeeper to join the national headquarters of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America (OSDIA), just steps from Capitol Hill. This is a unique opportunity to apply your accounting skills in a mission-driven nonprofit environment that supports Italian-American culture and heritage nationwide. Unlike many traditional accounting roles, this position gives you visibility into every aspect of a national organization’s finances. You’ll work directly with OSDIA’s National Executive Director (a CPA), who will provide training, mentorship, and guidance—an invaluable opportunity for career growth and professional development. This is an in-office position at our Washington, D.C. headquarters. Responsibilities: • Record day-to-day financial transactions in QuickBooks • Reconcile accounts monthly and assist with quarterly financial statement preparation • Ensure accounts payable/receivable are processed efficiently (Bill.com is used for AP) • Clean up and then meticulously maintain three sets of books to ensure accuracy and consistency • Monitor budgeted spending monthly and provide variance reports • Assist with annual independent audits and internal reviews • Ensure all credit card transactions are properly recorded and supported with receipts • Collaborate with the Administrative Assistant on membership renewals and general questions • Collaborate with the Programs Director on financials related to programs and events Qualifications: • At least 2+ years of professional experience in accounting or bookkeeping with a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, OR • A strong academic foundation in accounting/finance (Bachelor’s degree preferred) • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office required • Must possess exceptional communication, problem-solving, organization, and time management skills • Accrual basis and nonprofit accounting experience a plus Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 yearly
