Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to support financial reporting, general ledger management, and fiscal operations within a large, structured organization. This role is responsible for preparing financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and analytical reports that support accurate financial management and compliance with established standards.
The Accountant collaborates with finance leadership and internal departments to analyze fiscal data, monitor budgetary performance, and maintain accurate accounting records. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong knowledge of accounting principles, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience preparing journal entries, financial statements, and audit work papers
- Experience reconciling general ledger accounts and maintaining complex accounting records
- Experience analyzing budget variances, operating statistics, labor expenses, and revenue data
- Ability to interpret and apply accounting theory and financial regulations
- Experience maintaining records related to payroll, investments, revenue, fixed assets, capital projects, grants, and inventory
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and automated accounting system
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with internal governance standards
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Experience Preferences
- Experience within a public-sector or governmental accounting environment
- Knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards
- Experience supporting audits and preparing compliance documentation
- Familiarity with federal regulations related to financial reporting

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
