Senior Accountant – External Reporting Department

Salary: $100,000 - $105,000 (Based on HR analysis) Bonus: $3,000 after CPA is gained Location: Houston, TX 77032 Job Type: Full-time, In-person Child Care on site Gym: On site

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our External Reporting team. This position is ideal for a professional with industry experience in Oil & Gas, industrial sectors, or similar fields. You will play a key role in managing complex accounting transactions, preparing financial reports, and analyzing key financial data. The Senior Accountant will work under general supervision and demonstrate expertise in accounting practices, controls, and business systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Apply knowledge of company systems, processes, and controls to support various departments.

Perform complex accounting activities, including preparing journal entries and posting for various transactions.

Review financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with internal controls.

Research and resolve complex accounting issues and transactions.

Prepare, analyze, and distribute financial reports, including variance explanations.

Contribute to cross-functional teams and manage small-scale projects.

Demonstrate understanding of financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and internal controls.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including industry-specific experience (Oil & Gas or industrial sectors).

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.

Certification: CPA required, or actively pursuing certification. (If you are able to obtain your CPA within a year, the company will reimburse you for the costs of educational materials and fees.)

Systems: Experience with Hyperion, SAP/S4, and Workiva is a plus.

Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Knowledge: Proficiency in US GAAP or relevant country-specific accounting principles.

Preferred Experience:

Accounting: 5 years Total (Required)

Oil & Gas & or Industrial Accounting: 3 years (Required)

Additional Information:

This position is based in Houston, TX (must be able to commute in person).
