As a Staff Bookkeeper for Accountiful, you'll be responsible for implementing Accountiful's bookkeeping processes and practices efficiently and accurately and for communicating clearly with internal staff, clients, and client customers/vendors. Our ideal candidate is a quick study who possesses a balance of bookkeeping knowledge, technical skills, and communication abilities. You'll be working with a small team in a comfortable, light-filled office in downtown San Anselmo, California.
This full-time position (8 hours per day; Monday - Friday) is initially available to on-site employees only but has potential for future remote work. High potential for rapid growth and advancement. Employment includes flexible PTO, sick leave, paid holidays, and competitive pay.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately and efficiently process accounts payable for client review/approval using Bill.com
- Prepare client invoices and apply payments in QuickBooks Online
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts
- Securely handle and manage sensitive and confidential information
- Post payroll and other journal entries
- Review income and expense accounts for consistent and appropriate classification
- Perform income reconciliations between accounting system and other information management systems (e.g. practice management system, development database)
- Actively participate in refining and optimizing Accountiful's accounting processes
REQUIREMENTS
- Passion for detail, customer service, and integrity
- Fluency in basic bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable principles
- Outstanding written communication skills
- Excellent keyboard skills and use of keyboard shortcuts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Experience using QuickBooks Online
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Bill.com, Tallie, Expensify, Tabs3, and/or Clio
- Non-profit, legal, and/or retail bookkeeping experience
- Understanding of and experience with payroll reconciliation
- QuickBooks Online Certification
- Associate or bachelor's degree (ideally in finance, accounting, or business administration), accounting certificate, and/or formal bookkeeping training
