  • Responsibilities

    Jennie Joiner with The Forum Group PNW is partnering with a well-established Eugene-based company to hire an Accounting Assistant / Accounting Clerk to join their accounting team.

    This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys detailed work, has a strong understanding of basic accounting (debits/credits), and wants a stable role supporting inventory and equipment accounting. This position works closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and internal operations teams to ensure invoices and inventory transactions are recorded accurately.

    This role is 100% onsite and is ideal for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a structured, process-driven environment.


    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Enter vendor invoices for equipment purchases into the accounting system
    • Assist with tracking inventory and equipment records (each item has its own identification details)
    • Maintain and update inventory asset records in the ERP system
    • Support invoice processing so items can be approved and paid accurately
    • Record sales transactions and assist with cost of sale entries
    • Help ensure proper coding of transactions across general ledger accounts
    • Assist with accruals and basic month-end accounting support
    • Identify discrepancies or unusual requests and ask questions when something doesn’t look right
    • Work with internal departments to resolve invoice or inventory questions
    • Perform high-volume data entry while maintaining strong accuracy


    What They’re Looking For

    • 2-year Accounting degree OR 2+ years of accounting-related experience
    • Strong understanding of debits and credits
    • Experience working with general ledger accounts such as:
      • accruals
      • liabilities
      • cost of sales
      • inventory or assets
    • Experience with invoicing, AP support, or accounting data entry
    • Comfortable working in an ERP system (any system is fine)
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Reliable and consistent work habits
    • Willingness to speak up and ask questions when something doesn’t seem right


    Preferred (Nice to Have)

    • Inventory or equipment-related accounting experience
    • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, heavy equipment, or parts inventory environments
    • Excel skills (basic to intermediate)


    Schedule

    • Full-time, Monday–Friday
    • Standard hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    • During training, occasional earlier start times (around 7:00 AM) may be required
