About the Position
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our department and provide essential support for operations. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, motivated, and eager to grow within a fast-paced and seasonal business environment. Availability on weekends during the operating season is required.
Position Summary
The Accounting Assistant will work closely with the Accounting Department Lead to maintain accurate financial records, process day-to-day transactions, and assist with reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed
Review and organize invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports
Support bank reconciliations and general ledger entries
Assist in preparing monthly and year-end financial statements & Taxes
Maintain accurate vendor files and ensure timely payments
Provide clerical and administrative support to the Accounting Department Lead
Assist with audit preparation and compliance documentation
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Accounting Department Lead
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred (Bachelor’s a plus)
1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; QuickBooks or similar software a plus
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Must be available to work weekends during the operating season
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary ($19-$24/hr, commensurate with experience)
