In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the Controller with day-to-day financial operations. Your responsibilities will include recording accounts payable transactions, assisting with general ledger analysis and reporting, performing account reconciliations, and helping document accounting procedures, finance policies, and departmental projects. Responsibilities: • Support the Controller in managing daily accounting operations • Record and process accounts payable transactions accurately and in a timely manner • Support accounts receivable functions, including invoice tracking and client follow-ups • Assist with general ledger analysis and preparation of financial reports • Help perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations • Maintain and organize financial documentation in line with company policies and audit requirements • Contribute to the development, review, and documentation of accounting procedures and finance policies • Process employee expense reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including: • Generating preliminary reports within specific general ledger accounts • Assisting with payroll and internal reconciliations (e.g., benefits, client matter expenses) • Supporting the resolution of discrepancies in three-way trust reconciliations • Respond to inquiries from vendors, clients, and internal team members regarding financial transactions • Maintain and update financial files and records to ensure accessibility and proper organization • Assist with various accounting and finance-related projects or tasks as assigned Qualifications: • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred), or 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting • 3-5 years of experience in an entry-level finance or accounting role, or in a similar position • Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial processes • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, or similar) is a plus; experience with cms systems (e.g., Clio) is a plus • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and general ledger reporting • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Good written and verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors, clients, and internal teams Preferred Qualifications: • Previous experience in a similar financial or clerical role within a law firm • Basic understanding of accounting software and financial reporting tools Compensation: $62,400 - $66,560 yearly
