    Accounting Associate – Cape May, NJ

    Our client, one of the largest seafood harvesting, processing, and distribution companies on the eastern seaboard, currently has an opening available for an Accounting Associate in their Cape May facility.

    The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting in daily accounting operations, maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
    • Record and reconcile financial transactions in accounting software
    • Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with monthly closings
    • Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments
    • Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation
    • Support the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
    • Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed
    • Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal departments regarding financial inquiries
    • Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned

    Skills Required:

    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
    • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP)
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of financial data

    Skills Preferred:

    • Experience with ERP systems
    • Familiarity with payroll processing

    Education/Experience:

    • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
