This is an in-person job(not remote) in Johnson City, TN. We are seeking a skilled and experienced bookkeeper to manage all financial operations for our fast-paced construction company. The ideal candidate must possess strong organizational skills, excellent time management, and proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software. With a minimum of 5 years of experience as a full-charge bookkeeper, you should also have a proven track record of problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills. Responsibilities: • Use extensive data entry to ensure all financial data is input into accounting software • Direct all financial transactions, such as credit card and bank reconciliations, and oversee the accounts payables and receivables process • Process invoices, checks, and payroll accurately and on time and resolve any invoice issues • Be responsible for the accuracy of the general ledger, and journal entries, and prepare balance sheets and financial reports for review • Collaborate with the general contractor or project manager and provide detailed financial reporting to ensure costs, timeline, and budget of construction projects are accurately forecasted • Record financial transactions and maintain accounting records. • Prepare and manage accounts payable and receivable. • Prepare and analyze financial statements. • Cost analysis and budget preparation. • Tax filings and tax compliance. • Internal financial reporting and analysis. • Conduct audits and reconcile accounts. • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. Qualifications: • Excellent problem solving, analytical, organization and communication skills are needed • Five years of previous experience in accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience in the construction industry • Familiarity with construction accounting concepts, tax strategies, and best practices • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and accounting software, such as QuickBooks • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred but not required. • QuickBooks Specialist is a must. • Knowledge of accounting principles and standards (e.g., GAAP). • Attention to detail and accuracy in work. Compensation: $40,000 - $55,000 yearly
