    What We Are Looking For

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to support the financial operations of our hotel. The ideal candidate understands the fast-paced nature of the hospitality industry and has experience managing accounting functions in a hotel environment.

    You are highly accurate, dependable, and able to balance multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. The successful candidate will have knowledge of accounting processes, including revenue reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and financial record management. Experience with hotel property management systems, night audit procedures, and hospitality financial reporting is preferred.

    What You Will Do

    • Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Workday.
    • Reconcile accounts including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank statements, and daily hotel revenue.
    • Review and verify night audit reports and investigate discrepancies as needed.
    • Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
    • Support payroll processing using systems such as ADP, Paychex, Kronos, Ceridian, and UltiPro.
    • Assist with account analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and other accounting-related tasks.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements in all accounting activities.
    • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions efficiently and accurately.
    • Support budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting activities as needed.
    • Conduct tax-related tasks and maintain proper documentation for governmental reporting requirements.
    • Maintain organized records of financial transactions and support internal and external audits.
    • Collaborate with hotel departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
    • Previous accounting experience in a hotel, resort, or hospitality environment preferred.
    • Knowledge of hotel accounting practices and night audit procedures preferred.
    • Experience with hotel management systems, including FOSSE (Marriott), is a plus.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
    • Excellent data entry and 10-key skills with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping.
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.
    • Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
