ACCOUNTING DIRECTOR

SUMMARY
The Accounting Director provides leadership and oversight for all accounting operations at First Naples and satellite campuses. This role oversees the day-to-day execution of all accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy, integrity, and accountability across the organization.
In addition, this leader delivers clear, timely, and meaningful financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting that equips leadership and the finance committee to make informed, strategic decisions.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Works in coordination with First Naples' overall goals and objectives.
Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer, and meditation.
Lead yourself and your home towards Honesty, Honor, Humility, Hunger, the Holy Spirit, and Health (Emotional, Spiritual, Financially, and Physically)
Maintain proper priorities in your home, including your spouse and children (if married and/or with children).
Faithfully support the ministries of First Naples by maintaining wise stewardship measures over the resources entrusted to you.
Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner to glorify Christ and further the mission and ministry purposes of First (Colossians 3:23-24).
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Leadership & Integrity
Ensure accuracy, transparency, and integrity of all accounting records and reporting
Oversee internal accounting controls, policies, and audit readiness
Prepare financial reports for leadership, the finance committee, and auditors
Financial Analysis & Decision Support
Provide timely, accurate financial reporting to leadership and committee members
Deliver clear analysis, forecasts, and scenario modeling
Ensure financial information is understandable and actionable for non-financial leaders
Identify risks and opportunities early and communicate them clearly
Financial Operations
Oversee day-to-day financial functions, including payables and expenses
Manage vendor relationships, banking partners, and cash flow
Administer investment policies and ensure responsible use of financial resources
Maintain and improve financial systems and processes
Team Leadership
Lead and develop the accounting team
Set clear expectations and ensure strong accountability
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to lead two or more paid staff. This person must have proficiency in accounting software, reporting, and accounting best practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree minimum, and five years of accounting leadership. Fund or church accounting experience preferred. CPA preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The individual must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work with a diverse group of people, and communicate clearly and effectively, demonstrating tact and diplomacy. The individual must have the ability to understand written or oral instructions; read, analyze and interpret complex documents, instructions manuals, policies and procedures is essential.
COMPUTER AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The individual must have demonstrated technical ability and be able to use systems to complete tasks. The individual must be able to read, analyze, and interpret complex financial information and spreadsheets.
REASONING ABILITY
The ability to simultaneously conceptualize and plan multiple tasks; project outcomes using different implementation strategies; and apply creative and innovative thinking to problem situations is required. The ability to work effectively and efficiently under stressful conditions to ensure deadlines are met is essential.
