    Job Description

    What does the job involve?

    The Accounting Intern will support the finance department in maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with daily accounting operations. This role is designed for a student or recent graduate looking to bridge the gap between classroom theory and professional practice. You will gain exposure to full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls while working under the direct supervision of our senior accounting staff.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the preparation of daily and entry of daily month-end transactions.
    • Learn and perform the monthly reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards and ledgers to ensure data accuracy.
    • Support the processing of vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and customer billing.
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
    • Organize and provide documentation for internal and external audit requests.
    • Maintain physical and digital filing systems to ensure all financial records are compliant and accessible.

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Must be a current student of an accredited college or university.
    • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Accounting, Finance or a related business field.

    Required Skills:

    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and basic formulas).
    • Ability to spot discrepancies in large datasets and maintain high levels of accuracy.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive financial information with strict confidentiality.
    • Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal departments.
    • Familiarity with accounting software is a plus but not required.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged Sitting: Primarily requires sitting at a desk for the majority of the workday (typically 6–8 hours).
    • Visual Acuity: Precise near-vision is required for reading small print on invoices, analyzing dense spreadsheets, and viewing data on computer monitors for extended periods.
    • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, ten-key data entry (numeric keypad), and handling physical files or documents.
    • **Lifting & Mobility: **Occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 20 lbs.

    Working Conditions:

    • This position is located in an office suite situated above/adjacent to our active warehouse and distribution center.
    • The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate but can be occasionally loud. You may hear sounds consistent with a warehouse environment, including forklifts, backup alarms, heavy machinery, and loading activities.
    • While the office is climate-controlled, incidental exposure to dust or fluctuating temperatures may occur when entering warehouse areas or during high-traffic loading times.

    Additional Information

    Working Pattern : 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

    Hourly Rate : Starting at $21.00/hr.
