    POSITION SUMMARY

    Texas Inter-Faith Management/40i is a non-profit organization affiliated with The Inter-Faith Group (IFG), which is an alliance of seven independently operated non-profits that share a collective mission to create quality affordable housing and support services to families.     This position requires a professional, organized, and detailed individual with excellent computer and communication skills.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Accounting Assistant position will play a crucial role in supporting our finance department and ensuring accurate financial records.

    • Proficiency in financial software.
    • Knowledge of technical accounting principles.
    • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
    • Review files, reports, and other documents to obtain information and respond to requests.
    • Manage disputes, cancellations, refunds, etc.
    • Develop and improve processes and tools to successfully perform role in support of the Finance & Accounting Team.
    • Experience with vendor review negotiation, communication and payment.
    • Resolve accounting issues as they arise and follow-up on discrepancies.
    • Matching invoices to purchase orders/sales orders, data entry, and assisting with accounts Payable and Accounts receivable.
    • Organized and self-motivated.
    • Effective communication; written, verbal, and listening.
    • Strong Excel, Adobe, and other MS Office products are required.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

    • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in accounting.
    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
    • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and willingness to learn new skills.
    • Must be familiar with apartment / multi-family leasing and Fair Housing.
    • Apartment software experience is a bonus.
    • Excellent customer service and data entry skills
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills
    • High attention to detail.
    • Bilingual is a plus.
