    Overview

    Banyan Search is looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations and accounts payable functions within a growing organization. Reporting to senior finance leadership, this role will oversee month-end close activities, ensure GAAP compliance, strengthen internal controls, and drive process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical accounting expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for operational excellence.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial analysis, and issue resolution.
    • Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and internal control requirements.
    • Partner with business leaders and IT teams to improve processes, system utilization, and data integrity.
    • Serve as a key contact for external auditors and support audit-related activities.
    • Oversee accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliations.
    • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting and AP team members.
    • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and workflow enhancements.
    • Provide financial analysis and insights to support operational and business decisions.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
    • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
    • Experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close.
    • Prior experience leading or supervising accounting teams.
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and accounting best practices.
    • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
    • Proven ability to drive process improvements and system enhancements.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship requirements.

    $115,000 per year
