    About the Company

EEA Companies is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead technical accounting and the monthly close across a diverse portfolio, including real estate, hospitality, software, family office activity, and investment entities.

    About the Role

You will partner with the CFO and staff accountants to strengthen reconciliations, improve close quality, standardize accounting practices, and support timely, accurate financial reporting across multiple entities. This is a hands-on leadership role with meaningful day-to-day ownership. The CFO will retain final review, strategic oversight, tax and compliance leadership, and external advisor coordination, while you serve as the primary technical accounting lead for the team. As the structure continues to evolve, this role offers a clear path to grow into a Controller-level position.

    Responsibilities

    Monthly Close and Financial Reporting

Lead the monthly and quarterly close process across multiple entities in coordination with staff accountants and the CFO.

Own or review balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, journal entries, and other month-end support schedules.

Review account analyses, close work papers, and support documentation prepared by staff accountants.

Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, consistent, and supported by clear close documentation.

Identify close bottlenecks and implement a more disciplined, repeatable close cadence.

    Technical Accounting and Review

Serve as the day-to-day technical accounting lead, including complex analyses, memos, and issue resolution.

Lead revenue recognition processes and policy application, particularly for software and hospitality operations where timing and classification require added judgment.

Support fixed asset accounting by establishing capitalization standards, reviewing additions and disposals, and ensuring depreciation is recorded accurately.

    Process Improvement and Standardization

Standardize close checklists, reconciliations, documentation, and procedures to improve consistency and accountability.

Partner with the CFO to improve reporting quality and reduce reliance on last-minute review of corrections.

Recommend process improvements that support a scalable accounting structure as the business continues to grow.

    Audit, Tax, and Compliance Support

Support audit preparation, tax support schedules, and requests from external advisors.

Assist with documentation needed for tax, payroll, audit, legal, and compliance-related matters.

Help ensure records are organized, complete, and ready for the CFO or external advisor's review.

    Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience; prior experience as an Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, Assistant Controller, or similar role preferred.

Strong month-end close experience, including reviewing reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and close workpapers.

Multi-entity accounting experience is strongly preferred, including intercompany accounting and fixed assets.

Revenue recognition experience required (especially software/SaaS, hospitality, or contract-based environments).

Experience supporting audit and tax schedules and responding to external advisor requests.

Strong Excel skills and proficiency with accounting systems.

Ability to thrive in a hands-on, lean accounting environment.

    NetSuite experience is preferred.

    Ideal Candidate Profile

You're detail-driven and hands-on, but you also understand how to close and come into the bigger picture. You can lead a multi-entity close, review work confidently, resolve accounting issues, and bring structure and consistency to a fast-moving environment.

This role is ideal if you’re not a Controller yet but are ready to grow to that level with strong mentorship and ownership. You bring technical accounting strength, disciplined execution of the close, and a continuous-improvement mindset with steady, practical leadership.
