    We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee general ledger, payroll, financial reporting, and compliance functions. The Accounting Manager will be accountable for ensuring accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting, maintaining payroll accuracy, and driving continuous process improvements. Success in this role will be measured by well-defined performance metrics across accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and team development. Responsibilities: General Ledger & Financial Reporting • Maintain accuracy of GL and reconciliations by ensuring all sub-ledgers are reconciled to the general ledger within 5 business days of the month-end. • Deliver monthly financial statements that are accurate, GAAP-compliant, and ready for management review by the 10th business day of each month. • Eliminate recurring journal entry errors and reduce corrections. • Maintain inventory reporting accuracy by reconciling to third-party reports. Payroll & Compliance • Ensure payroll accuracy for all processing cycles. • Support employee confidence by responding to payroll inquiries in a timely manner. Policy, Audit & Controls • Develop and update accounting policies annually, ensuring audit readiness. • Support external audits by preparing all requested documentation within agreed timelines, contributing to an on-time audit completion. State Compliance, Sales Tax & Regulatory Filings • Manage state compliance obligations, including annual Secretary of State filings, franchise tax, business licenses, and other required registrations. • Ensure all state and regulatory filings are submitted on time and maintain an up-to-date compliance calendar. • Prepare and review multi-state sales tax filings and ensure timely submission by statutory deadlines. Leadership & Collaboration • Supervise and mentor staff to achieve department KPIs. • Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Finance, HR, and Operations teams to resolve accounting issues within agreed SLAs. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including tax, GL, and payroll. • 3+ years in a supervisory or management role. • Strong knowledge of GAAP, payroll regulations, and tax compliance. • Proven ability to work with external auditors and manage audit processes. • High ethical standards, confidentiality, and strong problem-solving abilities. Technical Skills • Proficiency with accounting and payroll systems, including ADP, Avalara, Procurify, QuickBooks, Odoo and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams). • Familiarity with SharePoint and document management software. • Financial Accounting System Implementation is a plus.
