We’ve partnered with two long-standing commercial and specialty contractors in Orange County, operating under a large construction portfolio of drywall and interiors sub-contractors. This Accounting Manager role owns day-to-day accounting for a $50–$100M project revenue portfolio in Irvine. If you are looking for the stability of an enterprise firm, but the culture of a family-owned organization...this is your opportunity!

You’ll be the on-site financial point person for the Irvine office, leading a small team, tightening processes, and giving leadership clean, timely numbers across both entities.

    The Role

This is a hands-on, in-the-weeds Accounting Manager role with a construction focus. You’ll sit in the Irvine office, Monday–Friday, with up to 50 WFH days per year as a key flexibility benefit.

    You will:

    • Lead day-to-day accounting operations across (OC/LA branch): AP, AR, payroll coordination, cash posting, and general ledger maintenance.
    • Own month-end close: journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and internal reporting for a ~$50–$100M book of business.
    • Manage contract billing and collections, including WIP / percentage-of-completion accounting, change orders, and job close-out.
    • Monitor job cost, margins, and overruns across union and non-union work.
    • Handle compliance-heavy construction items: Davis-Bacon/prevailing wage, OCIP/CCIP programs, bonding requirements, garnishments, and related documentation.
    • Oversee SUTA/FUTA and other payroll-related filings, including client-specific billing.
    • Serve as a key contact for vendors, resolving invoice and payment issues quickly and professionally.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis for Irvine operations.
    • Be a local culture carrier in the office—helping coordinate workflow, communication, and expectations across the accounting/admin team.
