    Position Summary

    The Accounting Manager will oversee accounting operations for a diversified group of affiliated companies while leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. This role is responsible for financial reporting, multi-entity accounting, staff supervision, and continuous process improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in ERP initiatives, including Oracle NetSuite administration, optimization, and implementation efforts, while leveraging prior QuickBooks experience to support system enhancements and financial operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Reporting & Close Management

    • Manage and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities across multiple affiliated entities.
    • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of entity-level and consolidated financial statements.
    • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
    • Analyze financial performance and provide variance analysis and actionable business insights to leadership.
    • Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
    • Monitor general ledger integrity and reporting accuracy.

    Multi-Entity Accounting

    • Oversee accounting functions for multiple affiliated companies and business units.
    • Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, eliminations, and consolidations.
    • Ensure accurate allocation of shared expenses across entities.
    • Support entity-specific reporting, compliance, and operational accounting requirements.
    • Coordinate financial processes and reporting across a multi-company structure.

    ERP Systems & Process Improvement

    • Serve as a key accounting leader for Oracle NetSuite administration, optimization, and enhancement initiatives.
    • Participate in ERP implementation activities, including data migration, process mapping, testing, end-user training, and go-live support.
    • Utilize technology to improve internal controls, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiency.
    • Identify and implement automation opportunities and accounting process improvements.
    • Leverage previous QuickBooks experience to support system transitions, data validation, and accounting workflow improvements.

    Leadership & Staff Supervision

    • Supervise, mentor, train, and develop accounting team members.
    • Establish performance expectations and support employee growth and career development.
    • Manage departmental priorities and allocate resources to meet deadlines and business objectives.
    • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and service-oriented culture within the accounting department.
    • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance management activities.

    Compliance & Operational Support

    • Maintain strong internal controls and support audit readiness.
    • Assist with tax preparation support and regulatory compliance requirements.
    • Coordinate banking, insurance, and financial administration activities.
    • Partner with leadership on special projects, strategic initiatives, and organizational growth efforts.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
    • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated supervisory or management responsibilities.
    • Experience managing accounting operations for multiple companies, subsidiaries, or affiliated entities.
    • Strong background overseeing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
    • Experience in privately held, family-owned, or mid-sized organizations preferred.
    • ERP implementation, system conversion, or finance transformation experience strongly preferred.

    Technical Skills

    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
    • Experience with Oracle NetSuite ERP strongly preferred.
    • Experience with QuickBooks and accounting system migrations preferred.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
    • Experience with consolidations, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity financial reporting.

    • Familiarity with payroll, tax, and multi-state compliance environments.
    • Previous involvement with QuickBooks-to-NetSuite or similar ERP conversion projects.

    Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.

    Work Arrangement: Full-time, onsite position in the Memphis, TN area.
