We are currently recruiting an Accounting Manager for their recently acquired Poway, CA-based subsidiary.
We are looking for a hands-on Accounting Manager to be completely responsible for all aspects of the subsidiary's accounting functions. This individual must be comfortable working in a small to medium-sized company environment and be willing to conduct all aspects of the job including but not limited to overseeing month-end close. This position reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer with a dotted line relationship to the Parent Company’s Vice President of Accounting & Finance.
In this position, the Accounting Manager will likely:
- Provide timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external customers, including the other departments and to the parent company.
- Prepare the weekly forecast report as well as the annual budget, and identify the trends, risks and opportunities.
- Analyze product/job cost trends and operational performance and determine potential issues and areas for improvement.
- Support the Sales Team with evaluating customer credit applications and determining appropriate credit limits based on risk and in accordance with the company’s policy.
- Review incoming customer orders and evaluate them based on our revenue recognition policy.
- Assist with managing inventory valuation, including tracking/valuing all materials, work in progress, and finished goods at month-end.
- Oversee the cycle count program and annual physical inventory count. Perform the review of inventory obsolescence and excess inventory in accordance with company policy.
- Assist with the development of the accounting reports including the monthly and quarterly REACH reports.
- Assist with the implementation of appropriate financial and IT controls to ensure compliance with 404 SOX requirements.
- Provide financial, administrative, and operational support, particularly in the areas of cost and inventory control as well as process improvement.
- Ensure local tax and regulatory filings and compliance.
- Other related ad-hoc reporting and analysis as necessary.
Requirements/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- CPA and/or CMA designation a plus
- Seven plus years of relevant experience, including strong cost accounting
- Manufacturing experience required
- Experience with NetSuite manufacturing software a plus
- Hands-on experience and knowledge of all aspects of accounting, financial analysis and planning including forecasting, budgeting, cost/benefit analysis, cash flow analysis, cost reduction initiatives, capital evaluation and justification, internal controls, and cost accounting.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees of all levels, including the parent company’s senior management team
- Strong analytical and Excel skills; able to manipulate high volumes of data
- Highly responsive to requests, with a high attention for detail and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
