Job Description
_ 1. Month-End Close & Financial Reporting_
- Lead and manage full month-end and year-end closing process
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Ensure timely preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Maintain close calendar and improve closing efficiency
- Review revenue recognition and COGS accuracy
_ 2. Retail & Distribution Accounting_
- Oversee accounting for major retail accounts (Costco, Ulta, Target, etc.)
- Monitor chargebacks, deductions, and promotional allowances
- Review trade spend, co-op accruals, and TPD accounting
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation
- Analyze gross margin by channel and brand
_ 3. Reporting & Compliance_
- Prepare internal management reports and variance analysis
- Support external audits and tax filings
- Ensure GAAP compliance and strengthen internal controls
- Maintain documentation for revenue, inventory, and expense policies
_ 4. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management_
- Monitor AR aging and deduction exposure
- Partner with operations on inventory planning and reserves
- Support forecasting and budget planning process
- Analyze working capital trends
_ 5. Team & Process Improvement_
- Supervise accounting staff (if applicable)
- Improve ERP workflows and reporting automation
- Implement best practices in financial controls
- Support system upgrades and process optimization
