    About the position

We are seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Accounting Project Manager. This position is a great opportunity for someone who thrives off of seeing direct results from process improvements and meaningful change. They can be expected to gain valuable exposure to a wide range of concepts through various assigned projects. The Accounting Project Manager will primarily manage finance-impacting business initiatives under the leadership of the Director of Accounting. These business ventures primarily include acquisitions, both large and small, system implementations, process improvements and other key special projects as assigned. Some of these initiatives involve frequent visibility from the C-Suite and is therefore a great opportunity to shine through demonstration.

    The Ideal Candidate

The candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of progressive responsibility in a general ledger accounting environment. They must also have working knowledge of the full accounting cycle and demonstrate an intermediate understanding of business best practices and control frameworks. The candidate should possess a strong understanding of GAAP in their everyday work, including conducting accounting technical research when required. Someone who has direct accounting exposure to acquisitions, including the creation of the opening balance sheet by assigning fair values to associated assets and liabilities, is highly desired. A candidate who expects to work a typical cyclical accounting job is not a good fit for this role.

    Position Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Director of Accounting to develop the opening balance sheet for new acquisitions.

Integrate critical finance processes from acquired companies into the shared accounting services model, including accounts receivable/payable, general ledger accounting, and the implementation of standard policies and procedures.

Frequently address departmental challenges by leveraging existing systems and technology to ensure automated, reliable, and consistent outcomes, often involving independent research, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

    Manage annual business insurance renewals.

    Lead special sales tax projects.

Contribute to other projects as assigned.
