    About The Job -

    Responsible for overseeing and coordinating critical financial reporting, risk management, and audit activities within the Finance Department along with serving as the department's core system expert. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, enhances internal controls, and drives operational efficiency through comprehensive reporting, reconciliation, and vendor risk management. The position involves collaboration with internal teams, external auditors, and the board to support strategic financial decision-making.

    ** Essential Job Duties –**

    • Assist with mapping and updating reports that will guide the department moving forward by serving as the department's core system expert
    • Coordinate the risk reporting in the Finance Department including FDICIA and develop new risk-related reports and dashboards for various audiences including the board.
    • Oversee all general ledger reconciliation and monthly reconciliation preparation and work on bringing other areas of the bank's reconcilements into the Finance department (once independence period is complete).
    • Identify and document financial statement exposures, internal control deficiencies and operational inefficiencies and/or opportunities for improvement.
    • Coordinate the vendor risk-management program including program design and execution. Ensure efficiency, quality control, and compliance with regulatory guidance in bank-wide vendor risk management activities.
    • Assist in all internal and external audits and prepare all samples that are needed.
    • Monitor all audits in progress to ensure audit objectives are met and audit is completed in a timely manner. Review completed audit and compliance projects. Assert opinion on areas audited as to personal performance, reliability of accounting and effectiveness of internal controls (once independence period is complete).
    • Prepares quarterly and annual financial statements.
    • Comply with and maintain working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

    Requirements -

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field
    • 3-5+ years of previous accounting or finance related experience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
    • Knowledge of internal audit techniques, policies and procedures, and compliance audit techniques.
    • Must be able to analyze data and develop strategies to improve operations.
    • Knowledge of federal and state regulatory laws pertaining to financial institutions
