    Join our collaborative accounting team where you will work with a team (AR, AP and payroll) and learn alongside an experienced Controller who will mentor and grow you into that Controller / mentoring role.

    Accounting Supervisor (Commercial Construction) – What You Will Do

    You will shadow the Controller and perform hands-on accounting functions across accounts receivable / construction WIP and billing, accounts payable, and payroll, with the opportunity to grow into a leadership role overseeing the accounting team.

    You will:

    • Mentor the small accounting team (AR, AP and payroll), reviewing their work, providing regular check-ins, daily management, supporting their growth
    • Serve as a hands-on, supportive manager who removes obstacles and helps the team succeed, also serving as back up when needed
    • Review AR aging reports regularly, identify items that need attention, and guide the team on follow-up and collection efforts
    • Work closely with Project Management team to monitor Percentage of Completion (POC), gather billing information, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accuracy in project billings and cost tracking
    • Manage construction Work In Progress (WIP) schedules, assisting with reconciliation between accounting records and project management reports
    • Prepare and review construction billing documentation to ensure compliance with contract requirements
    • Oversee AP processing including invoice entry, approval workflows, and payment runs to ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time
    • Collaborate with the Controller to identify and implement process improvements that make our accounting operations more efficient
    • Assist with complex or escalated AR or AP issues, balancing leadership with hands-on problem-solving
    • Manage high-volume AP confidently, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of all transactions

    Accounting Supervisor (Commercial Construction) Required Skills, Experience & Personality Fit

    • You’ve overseen an accounting team in construction, engineering, or related industries
    • You have experience managing Accounts Receivable (AR), understanding the full accounting cycle from billing to vendor payments and reconciliations
    • You have a solid understanding of Work In Progress (WIP) schedules and have experience in monitoring and managing Percentage of Completion (POC) billing
    • You’re skilled at reviewing and interpreting construction contracts to ensure billing aligns with scope, change orders, and project milestones
    • You’re experienced and comfortable in a high volume AP environment, keeping multiple priorities on track
    • You enjoy leading, mentoring, teaching and inspiring a team, while ensuring accountability and shared success
    • You take ownership, follow through, and ensure projects and process improvements are completed on time
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
    • Excited to grow into an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller role in the future

    Accounting Supervisor (Commercial Construction) You Might Have

    • Experience with Computerease ERP system
    • Experience managing Accounts Payable (AP), and Payroll

    Accounting Supervisor (Commercial Construction) – For You

    Compensation $75,000 to $90,000 base salary.

    This role requires successful completion of a drug test and a background check prior to start date.
