WHAT THE CLIENT ACCOUNTING MANAGER (CAM) POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
- "Own" a group of clients of various industries and service level
- Retention of their clients through spectacular customer service and support
- Managing the quality of accounting and approving work done by CAAs (Client Accounting Associates) for their clients
- Being responsive to their client's needs and providing timely, accurate, and relevant advice to the client regarding ongoing accounting operations
- Delivering timely and accurate financials, perform complex accounting procedures, and manage the overall accounting process for their clients
WHAT JOB DUTIES YOU'LL BE DOING EVERY DAY
- Overall day-to-day ownership of accuracy and quality of client financials and accounting systems
- Review the quality of the work performed by the CAA on your clients
- Follow repeatable processes (or show us how to improve them!)
- Coach and mentor clients and their stakeholders - explain accounting to non-accountants
- Answer questions and assist your clients with their requests and/or questions
- Develop strategies, solve clients' pain points and dig into accounting puzzles
- Maintain & review General Ledger
- AP and AR activities like delivering reporting, approving transactions, and verifying data syncs
- Complete and/or approve detailed revenue recognition – many times from multiple sources
- Perform and/or approve inventory adjustments and costing
- Post and/or approve adjustments to produce GAAP "lite" financials
- Prepare client reporting and complete month-end close
- Review and file California sales tax returns
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS TO APPLY
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- 2+ years working with multiple clients
- 2+ years working remotely (experience with a full remote team a plus)
- Are a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and live in the United States (no exceptions)
- Be available during core hours of 9am to 4pm Pacific-Time
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to prioritize client requests and deadlines
- Tech curious and hunger to learn
- Strong team player, great at juggling priorities and thrives in changing environments
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR YOUR HOME OFFICE
- Quiet and dedicated workspace during core business hours (9am to 4pm Pacific-Time)
- Professional looking background view for frequent internal and external video calls
- High-speed and reliable internet
- Modern computer running the latest version of MacOS or Windows
- At least 2 monitors
- Headset or headphones for video and phone calls
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU A TOP CANDIDATE
- Strong work experience at a Client Accounting Services firm like ours
- QBO expert level knowledge with Advanced ProAdvisor certification
- Deep experience with technology, data syncs, and reporting from common apps like:
- Bill.com
- Expensify
- Gusto
- Amazon Seller Central
- POS systems like Square, Stripe, PayPal, Shopify, Toast, etc.
- Inventory systems like Dear, Cin7, A2X, etc.
- G Suite - Gmail, Docs, Sheets
- Asana and/or Karbon
- Payroll and sales tax experience
- Inventory costing and reporting
- Data analysis and reporting skills
- Customer onboarding skills
- Workflow and process improvement

- Base salary ranges from $50,000 (CAM II) to $65,000 (CAM III)
- Performance incentives (up to 18% of base salary) based on personal and company performance
