Accounts Payable Accountant
Position Overview
The Accountant will play an integral role within the finance team, supporting all aspects of bookkeeping and accounting activities. This position requires a dependable and detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and collaborate effectively across functions. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the initiative to contribute both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Record daily cash entries and monthly non-cash entries in QuickBooks.
- Perform monthly bank, broker, and credit card reconciliations.
- Compile quarterly financial statements, including reconciliations and consolidated reporting.
- Maintain the asset ledger and supporting schedules, including capital improvements, fine art, and valuables.
- Track and manage accounts receivable, including collection of interest and rent payments.
- Assist with ADP payroll processing for a small number of employees, including preparation and distribution of monthly reports.
- Track contractor payments and support the tax team with data gathering for 1099 preparation.
Compliance Monitoring
- Partner with subject matter experts to support the development of compliance procedures and checklists.
- Assist in monitoring debt compliance for various management company debt instruments.
- Coordinate with the Investment Advisor (IA) to complete and track quarterly compliance certificates and annual business license renewals.
Treasury Operations
- Perform daily cash downloads and transaction reviews.
- Prepare weekly cash and credit card reports.
- Set up wire templates for routine payments.
- Assist with loan documentation and tracking.
Other Responsibilities
- Respond to recurring and ad-hoc internal reporting requests.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve processes and support special projects as needed.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- Relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity or investment management environment.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks; experience with Workday or other GL software a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Excel and solid overall computer skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
