Job Description: Position: Accounts Payable Analyst
The Accounts Analyst will assist in the day-to-day responsibilities of the corporate accounting department. The ideal candidate will be detailed oriented and organized. They should have the ability to work independently as well as in a team and have good communication and time management skills. This position reports to the Controller.
Job Description
- Assist with expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries and other AP duties
- Assist with preparing, receiving and billing of purchase orders
- Review vendor bills and statements for accuracy and completeness
- Pay vendors by monitoring bill due dates; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation
- Perform monthly credit card reconciliations and verify collection of required supporting documentation
- Pay employees by verifying expense reports and preparing reimbursement checks
- Maintain supporting documentation of all historical payable activities
- Assist in updating pickup reports of product
- Assist in month end operations by monitoring receipt of all recurring bills.
- Review and update pricebook and make adjustments when requested
- Compiling vendor information for 1099s at year end and collecting W9's as needed
- Taking on additional tasks or special projects to learn more about accounting and office operations
- Continue to improve payables process
Education/Skills/Expertise:
- Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting functions, degree in accounting related field is a plus.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Ability to keep information confidential
- Motivated and strong desire to take on new challenges
