An established environmental contracting company in Charlotte, NC seeks an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support daily financial operations. This position reports to the Controller and handles day-to-day receivables transactions including composing, classifying, verifying, and recording company receivables. You'll work closely with a small accounting team in a collaborative office environment.

Key Responsibilities – Accounts Receivable Specialist
- Gather information and coordinate with project managers to compose customer invoices daily for jobs performed
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation, accuracy, and approval prior to posting
- Prepare and enter deposits, ACH, or credit card payments daily
- Address receivable-related issues with project managers and management
- Code general ledger account numbers to billing and track exchange purchases when applicable
Qualifications – Accounts Receivable Specialist
- Minimum 2 years previous accounting and office administration experience required
- Proficient personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate, or equivalent relevant work experience
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications – AR Specialist
- Experience within a construction or trades setting highly preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central highly preferred
- Accounts receivable experience in project-based environments
- Familiarity with job costing and project accounting
- Collections experience preferred
Physical Requirements – Accounts Receivable Specialist
- Ability to work in an office environment Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
- Regular use of computer and standard office equipment
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to answer phones and perform general office administration duties
- Occasional filing and organizing of physical documents
