Job description
We are searching for a Partner/Senior Tax Manager to join our firm in Orange County. In this role, you will be reviewing and preparing tax returns for high-net-worth clients. We focus on high-net-worth individuals, businesses, trusts, and estate tax returns. We firmly believe in work-life balance and make this a priority for our staff offering flexible work schedules. Our firm has experienced significant growth and based on this growth, we need an experienced individual with tax knowledge and experience in reviewing and preparing tax returns. We are a Cloud-based accountant firm with a paperless procedure.
Responsibilities:
Review and prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals (1040), partnerships (1065), and corporations (1120 and 1120S) income tax returns to satisfy compliance requirements and support effective business/tax planning.
Developing tax strategies to assist clients in being tax-compliant
Perform budget and cash flow projections.
Monitoring developments in tax legislation, Informing management and staff of developments in tax legislation
Supervising, training, and mentoring Tax preparer staff
Identifying tax problems and developing solutions
Completing responses and schedules in preparation for income tax audits
Use applicable federal, state, and local tax law to determine deductions and how much each client will pay or earn on the return
Complete and file tax documents with appropriate agencies, like the IRS, state, and local government entities
Build customer relationships to promote and expand the business
Qualifications of the Tax Preparer:
Previous experience in public accountant firm preferred (7 years plus)
2+ years of management/supervisory experience required
Fundamental knowledge of GAAP and tax regulation
Experience with major tax preparation software (Lacerte, Office Tools, SmartVault, Excel, QuickBooks, Sharefile experience)
QuickBooks programs, Office Suite, and other reporting tools
Detail and deadline-oriented
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills with a bias toward efficiency
Excellent time management, judgment, poise, and professionalism
Must-Have:
Current California CPA License or Master's Degree in Tax
Proficient in Lacerte Tax Preparation Software
Proficient in QuickBooks accounting, Office Tools software
Compensation:
Up to $250K plus bonuses + relocation package (if necessary)
