Mental Health Professional (MHP Provisional Licensed) shall meet the following minimum requirements:
Must have a Master of Social Work or Master of Arts in a Mental Health, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology related field or Master of Science in a Mental Health, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology.
Must have a minimum of 15 hours of graduate level course work and/or practicum experience in applied interventions strategies or methods designed to address behavioral and/or emotional and/or mental problems. Hours may be obtained as a part of or in addition to the master’s degree.
Shall meet the following minimum:
Be at least 18 years old in an adult provider and 21 years old in a provider that treats children and/or adolescents.
Has obtained a high school diploma or equivalent.
Per DHH licensed and provisional licensed persons with a master’s degree in social work, counseling, or psychology intern field may provide all aspects of CPST, including counseling.
