    Join a family-owned, ISO-certified screw machine shop specializing in multi-spindle production.

    This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on setup, precision work, and being part of a close-knit team.

    You’ll work primarily on Acme Gridley 6-spindle machines producing a variety of low- to medium-volume parts.

    This is a FIRST SHIFT, direct hire position.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Setup & Changeovers: Set up Acme Gridley machines, including changing cams and gears, grinding and setting form tools, shave tools, drills, and cutoffs to meet production specs.

    Operation & Monitoring: Operate machines to maintain consistent part quality; monitor processes and alert supervision to any issues.

    First Article & In-Process Inspection: Perform first article inspections and monitor part quality throughout production runs, ensuring adherence to print specifications.

    Tooling Layouts: Position and secure tools in holders according to layout sheets and job travelers.Material Loading: Load raw material into the machine safely and efficiently.

    Documentation: Maintain accurate production records and inspection documentation.

    Safety & Housekeeping: Follow all shop safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized work environment.

    Essential Skills and Qualifications:

    Experience: At least one year of experience setting up and operating Acme Gridley or similar multi-spindle screw machines, or one year of transferable skills including Davenport, New Britain).

    Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to troubleshoot and make fine mechanical adjustments.

    Blueprint Reading: Skilled at reading and interpreting engineering prints.

    Measuring Tools: Proficient with micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment.

    Attention to Detail: Strong focus on part quality and accurate documentation.

    Teamwork: Effective communicator with a collaborative attitude.

    Physical Requirements: Able to stand for long periods, lift materials, and work in a busy production environment.
