SOFTWARE ENGINEER (WEB) (HARVEST) | ACORNS

Acorns is seeking a front-end engineer to join our highly autonomous and passionate engineering team that promotes a customer-first, results-driven and collaborative culture. You'll have the opportunity to further shape and build a strong engineering culture, adopt efficient and practical PRD processes, and collaborate with our talented design, product, education and marketing teams to drive 10x growth for our business.

Acorns Harvest helps consumers become fee-free. We put artificial intelligence in the hands of the masses to automatically negotiate bank fees and return money to their pockets.  After seeing many millennials and minorities become plagued by bank fees (overdraft, NSF, late fees, etc.), we decided to build a platform that identifies negotiable bank fees and automates the refund process with banks. 

We work hard to fulfill our social mission through cutting-edge machine learning and building exceptional products that help everyone. Through our product, we are disrupting the way America banks.

This role has the option to be remote or based in our Irvine, Austin or New York offices.

WITHIN 1 MONTH YOU WILL:

• Introduce yourself and work with the various teams here from product, marketing, and engineering
• Conduct a deep-dive on Acorns Harvest infrastructure
• Learn about our roadmap and all the exciting new projects coming soon.
• Setup your development environment
• Get your first project into production and learn about our development processes.

WITHIN 6 MONTHS YOU WILL:

• Optimize the registration funnel to allow for industry-leading conversion rates by leveraging A/B testing framework with recurring experience
• Troubleshoot existing issues that affect the user experience in the app
• Coordinate with mobile design and engineering teams to bring a seamless experience to our web product.
• Own the customer experience from end-to-end

WITHIN 12 MONTHS YOU WILL:  

• Have demonstrated excellence within the engineering organization.
• Built services and products that are being used daily by our millions of users.
• Be someone other team members go to for advice or questions on services you helped build.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ACORNS HARVEST:

• 3+ years of front-end development experience
• Vue proficiency
• Experience in a back-end framework
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
• Excellent understanding of software engineering, design, and UX fundamentals
• Ability to work effectively on multiple projects with demanding deadlines in a team environment
• Thirst for delivering game-changing products
• Exceptional drive and precision in delivery
• A belief that your work is tied to your life's mission
• Optimistic about the potential of societal change
• Familiarity with Google Cloud platform

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Python back-end experience a plus
• Design portfolio
• Expertise in UX design process
