  • Responsibilities

    As the **Acquisition Application Manager , **you will oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of acquisition and procurement systems. This role plays a critical part in managing applications that support contract lifecycle management, procurement planning, vendor performance, and compliance with acquisition regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in acquisition processes, IT systems management, and cross-functional coordination.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (not limited to duties as described – performs related duties as requested)

    l Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of acquisition-related applications and tools

    l Serve as the primary liaison between acquisition teams, IT, software vendors, and stakeholders

    l Lead system upgrades, integrations, and troubleshooting activities to ensure optimal performance and usability

    l Support acquisition planning, contract award processes, and post-award tracking through technology solutions

    l Analyze user needs and translate them into technical requirements and system configurations

    l Ensure acquisition systems comply with federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS), organizational policies, and cybersecurity requirements

    l Develop and maintain training materials, user guides, and SOPs for acquisition systems

    l Provide technical and process support to procurement teams and end-users

    l Track system performance, usage, and KPIs to recommend improvements

    l Participate in audits, reviews, and data quality checks to ensure system integrity and compliance


    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    l A Bachelor’s Degree with a major in any field. Exceptional knowledge or understanding in information technology systems or computer systems related tasks may be substituted for the degree.

    l Extensive knowledge or understanding in IT System Administration, Contract Specialist or Procurement Analyst.


    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    l Knowledge or understanding of DoD acquisition system policies and procedures, laws, and regulations.

    l Knowledge or understanding of the federal acquisition process and contracting principles. Must demonstrate customer service skills.

    l Knowledge or understanding of the DoD Procurement Data Standard.

    l Ability to resolve complex problems and develop concrete action plans to solve problems.

    l Must demonstrate customer service skills.

    l Experience with Agile or DevSecOps software development environments

    l Familiarity with data governance, cybersecurity requirements (e.g., FISMA, NIST), and system accreditation processes

    l PMP or DAWIA certification (Contracting, Program Management, or IT) is a plus

    l Experience with business process reengineering or workflow automation
