While the position is remote, the incumbent must be able to commute to the Maryland office (BWI Airport corridor) as needed.
JOB SUMMARY/POSITION OBJECTIVES: This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for the oversight and coordination of all financial transactions and financial reporting and the Maryland Physicians Care MCO (MPC). This position supports the financial components of the operating units' principal of integrated medical, operational, and financial management.
Essential Functions:
Present information to MPC and Senior Leadership.
Investment Management including oversight of all treasury functions including balance and reconcile assets; prepare daily bank balance report, accounts receivable, accounts payable and claims payable activities.
Assist with management of annual State Rate Setting process and monthly IBNR claims liability estimates. Working with State and internal actuaries.
Facilitates the accurate and timely processing of FTE and administrative expense reports, cash control, and payroll processing; monitor and comply with state and federal reporting requirements along with
401K reporting
Administration (MIA), Health Services Cost Review Commission(HSCRC) and Maryland Department of Health(MDH).
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Ability to perform detailed and disciplined work using standard methodologies in the analysis, design, development, evaluation, documentation, implementation, and support of accounting and business finance procedures.
Ability to organize, coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to communicate and present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as the incumbent must be effective in working with a diverse group of management, staff, state regulators and auditors and proactive in problem-solving.
Strong analytical abilities to define problems, collect data, establish fact, draw valid conclusions, and design, implement, and manage appropriate action plans.
Strong accounting and financial analysis skills.
Strong computer and software skills to successfully utilize Excel, and other Microsoft Office software applications.
