    FINANCE PROGRAM COORDINATOR

    LOCATION: TOWSON, MD

    SCHEDULE: FULL-TIME, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

    PAY: 70-75K

    Our nonprofit client is seeking a Finance Program Coordinator to join their team. This role is primarily responsible for supporting the accounting of all offices in addition to various tasks related to the support of programmatic activity. This support follows the life cycle of the project from proposal to final financial report.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Financial Statements and Annual Audit: Preparation of internal financial statements; prepare audited financial statements and respond to audit requests
    • Programs Support/Donor Financial Reports: Create project codes for new programs; preparation of Donor financial reports including review of reports prepared by the field office; review program/project budgets for proposals; manage net asset meeting
    • Cash Requests: Process cash requests to field office, draw down cash as needed or work with the field office to request from donor; transfer funds
    • Federal Requirements: Form 990 preparation, completion of organizer, review of draft return; NICRA annual preparation and submission; preparation and filing of Federal Financial reports and completion of all required filings
    • Internal Field Reviews: review documentation, prepare field report, travel to field office, as required
    • Documentation: Regarding accounting policies, develop new policies to address changes and update current policies as needed; ensure there is training available and coordinated related to new policies; review of country work papers
    • Journal entries: Prepare entries for the monthly and annual close; review journal entries of Senior Accountant and Field Finance Manager

    MINIMALLY REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Relationship Management: Proven skills in leveraging effective working relationships and influencing key stakeholders in support of business goals
    • Professional Knowledge: Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Grant regulations
    • Software Applications and Computer Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, database, general ledger packages and internet applications, use of queries and excel functions
    • Communication: Advanced oral and written communication skills using different forms of media, ability to translate complex concepts to individuals at all levels.
    • Competencies: Meets established deadlines, strategic thinker, good organizational skills with excellent attention to details, results oriented, people oriented, analytical skills and problem solving skills
    • Self-Management and Teamwork: Ability to work independently or as a member of the team, ability to remain focused and consistently accurate, ability to manage stress effectively in a fast-paced environment, ability to quickly learn new systems, processes and procedures and ability to promote and maintain cohesion within the department
    • Confidentiality: Proven ability to maintain confidentiality on work-related issues

    MINIMALLY REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING:

    • Experience: 5 years in related/relevant work experience, 2 years in public accounting
    • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

    • Travel is 10% or less – domestic or international
    • Standard office environment; mostly sedentary position; may sit for extended periods of time
    • Requires dexterity to operate general office equipment
    • Infrequent weekend and evening work may be required
