    SUMMARY OF POSITION

    The Assistant Controller will provide financial expertise in regards to managing the finances for our client's Intermodal Division. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for gathering data, performing analysis, accounts receivable review, subcontractor pay and other duties of the operations. They will be required to assist the Intermodal management, Director of Accounting and Controller.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Prepare and analyze financial statements for the Intermodal Division, ensuring that the monthly financial statements are timely and accurate. In addition, responsible for weekly reporting requirements.
    • Support the President of the Intermodal operation
    • Work with agent administrative personnel to understand all processes to support the operation
    • Responsible for and supervise the weekly subcontractor pay/settlement process for 500+ owner operators
    • Review Intermodal accounts receivable
    • Fuel tax review
    • Ensure all per diem / supplemental charges are properly billed. Reconcile the per diem accounts.
    • Responsible for all other agent related accounting items such as: chargebacks, lease purchase, etc.
    • Review all Agent Balance Sheet reconciliations
    • Support other areas of the department - become backup on an as needed basis to specific functions
    • Become involved in the other accounting areas of the business, and other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Degree in Finance or Accounting
    • Minimum 2-3 years public or private experience
    • Sage 500 experience a plus
    • Exceptional computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
    • Must be able to work independently, multi-task and prioritize effectively
