    Ada Developers Academy is a non-profit, tuition-free coding school for women and gender expansive adults. We focus on serving black, latine, indigenous, and pacific islander communities, low income people, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Our program consists of two highly immersive parts: six months of focused instruction, and five months of internship at partner companies, where students refine their skills working on real-world code.

    ABOUT THIS POSITION

    We are looking for an Outreach Coordinator to work closely with the Admissions Specialist and Communication Specialist to expand and manage our outreach goals and initiatives as we grow. This position is responsible for developing, planning, and coordinating public outreach efforts. You will bring your knowledge and experience in the following areas, including, but not limited to: relationship-building, event planning, and community engagement. This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) with an hourly base salary of $24 to $28 (DOE) with the potential opportunity to expand to full-time in September 2021.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

    Relationship Building and Recruitment (45%)

    Build and maintain positive relationships with prospective applicants and partner organizations for upcoming application cycles. This includes:

    Meet with potential students and speaking with community groups and organizations;

    Implement the outreach strategy for building connections to other organizations that serve our target students; Bring awareness of our programs and provide them with the tools and information to encourage their participants to apply to Ada;

    • Build relationships with Black, Latine, Indigenous American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander candidates or organizations that serve these communities to add applicants to the funnel;

    Bring prospective applicants through the engagement funnel to conversion during admission cycles.

    Event Coordination and Facilitation (40%)

    Ensure all Outreach events run seamlessly and prospective applicants engage with Ada in a positive and proactive way. This includes:

    • Work across functions to coordinate and execute outreach events including monthly information sessions, Ada Build workshops and other programs that promote awareness about Ada and our mission;

    • Manage communications for participants, volunteers, vendors, etc. as needed per event;

    • Track and manage data and feedback regarding events and program offerings to determine effectiveness of engaging prospective applicants;

    • Represent Ada Developers Academy at community events as needed.

    Administrative Duties (15%)

    • Respond to inquiries about the Ada program via email;

    • Track partnership records and manage data through Salesforce;

    • Complete weekly data auditing and consistent communication with prospective students to ensure a timely and positive experience for all prospective students;

    • Research community organizations that align with Ada’s mission and can act as meaningful applicant pipelines.

      

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

    • 1-3 years of experience in community/external relations, nonprofit management, campaigns and/or recruitment in a fast-paced environment;

    • Knowledge of how to build relationships, be a team player, and able to work collaboratively;

    • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, ability to thoughtfully craft communications to reflect the audience;

    • Excellent organizational ability and attention to detail, ability to proactively prioritize across multiple streams of work and to execute effectively;

    • A personal commitment to equity and social justice, with experience engaging historically un(der)served people or communities in recruitment;

    • Demonstrated experience managing and organizing data and information for multiple audiences and purposes; Experience using Salesforce is a plus.
