    Adaptive Construction Solutions (ACS) is looking for individuals interested in starting a career as a Registered Electrician Apprentice in Uvalde, Texas. Candidates must be based in the local area.

    Upon placement into a full-time job, apprentices begin employment by participating in up to 2 weeks of orientation and craft training. Apprentices are paid wages during this extended orientation/training. Training is sponsored by employers and the workforce system.

    What is Apprenticeship?

    Role of an Laborer Apprentice

    Electrician Apprentice perform a wide range of duties such as:

    · Perform basic and semi-skilled labor tasks during the construction of large, utility scale solar power projects.

    · Different phases include post staging and layout, post installation, quality control and remediation, racking system component staging and assembly, solar panel installation and connections.

    · This position is 100% outdoors, projects span multiple months, offers lots of hours while giving an opportunity to learn valuable skills in construction as well as being an important part in the development of Renewable Energy Sources for local communities.

    Laborer Apprentice perform a wide range of duties such as:

    · Complete labor-intensive work in various weather conditions

    · Measure, cut, assemble, and bolt structural framing and solar modules

    · Connect installed solar panels to new and existing electrical systems and check electrical installation for proper wiring, polarity, grounding, or integrity of terminations

    · Organize and maintain system components

    · Maintain documentation of completed installations

    · Apply weather sealing to array, building, or support mechanisms

    Eligibility Requirements:
    \- Ability to work in and promote a drug free environment
    \- Able to carry 60lbs of equipment and lift 100lbs
    \- Have a valid driver’s license
    \- Be reliable and practice good attendance
    \- Willingness to submit to a physical and background check

    As one may expect, construction is performed in physically demanding conditions requiring heightened situational awareness. These conditions include but are not limited to extreme heights, confined spaces, cold winters, and hot summers. As a result, workers must be willing to work in austere (strict) safety conditions.

    Veterans Benefits

    Training is sponsored by employers and the workforce system. While earning wages and learning a skilled trade, veterans may utilize their GI Bill benefits to receive a tax-free monthly housing allowance. The combination of wages and GI Bill benefits helps veterans earn journey-level wages while progressing in an apprenticeship program.
