  • Responsibilities

    Aderas is seeking a Healthcare Interface Designer to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM) program. The DHMSM program provides modernization of Electronic Health Record (EHR) capabilities for the DoD, known as MHS Genesis. The MHS Genesis program is a highly visible and impactful program is designed to deploy a new EHR to the military health system, supporting nearly 10 million service members and their families. Aderas is seeking candidates for the engineering team to support a number of positions to define, implement, deploy and sustain new capabilities.

    Primary Job Duties:

    • Responsible for designing system-system interfaces that meet the needs of the client.
    • Responsible for documenting the designs and acquiring client approval.
    • Responsible for acquiring development approval of the design.
    • Responsible for acquiring external system approval of the design.
    • Responsible for assisting the developers with the functional aspects of the design, as needed.
    • Responsible for assisting with the test plan scenario development of the system-system interface.
    • Responsible for assisting with test execution and defect investigation of the system-system interface.
    • Responsible for assisting with the implementation plans and actual activation of the new/modified system-system interface.
    • Operate in a fast-paced environment, coordinating the design efforts of several individual system-system interface designs simultaneously.
    • Ability to prepare or assist in the preparation of project plans associated with the system-system design.
    • Ability to track progress versus the agreed plan and provide progress feedback on a weekly basis.
    • Conduct design sessions to ensure an optimal design is achieved.
    • Fully understand the system-system interface purpose.
    • Ability to understand the needs of the test team as it relates to the system-system design

    Required Education & Work Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree and min. 7 years in system-system interface design, preferably in provider healthcare

    Required Experience & Skills:

    • Strong working knowledge of HL7 v2 messages
    • Strong working knowledge of XML and JSON message structures
    • Working knowledge of SOAP and REST and MLLP communication patterns
    • Extensive experience with Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in large-scale COTS integration
    • Familiarity with DoD Configuration Management and Systems Engineering methodologies

    Clearance/Citizenship: U.S. Citizen, able to obtain a Public Trust
