    The Division of Computer Science, Mathematics and Science delivers undergraduate programs in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics and Networking Systems and graduate programs in Computer Science, Data Science and Cyber and

    Responsibilities

    The division is seeking candidates for all ranks at the adjunct level to teach mathematics courses face to face on the Queens campus in areas of Probability and Statistics, Calculus and Algebra.

    Adjunct faculty work under the direct supervision of the Division Chair. Once assigned a course or courses, they are expected to:

    • Prepare and distribute to students a course outline in accordance with the course syllabus.
    • Develop instructional materials (lectures, readings, assignments, exams, projects, etc.) that will achieve the learning outcomes as stated in the course syllabus.
    • Evaluate student performance throughout the semester and provide periodic and constructive feedback to students in a reasonable amount of time.
    • Be available to engage with students outside the classroom by email, phone, web conferencing, or face-to-face meetings.
    • Evaluate student performance and post final grades for each student within the timeframe required by the Provost’s Office and be available for two weeks after the semester concludes to discuss final grades with students by email or phone.
    • Promptly respond to requests for information before, during, and after the course as required by the Division Chair and the CCPS Dean’s Office.

    Qualifications

    For all ranks, a master’s degree in the discipline or a related field is required. At the instructor level, relevant industry experience and college teaching experience is preferred. At the assistant professor level, college teaching experience is required. At the associate professor level, college teaching experience is required, and an earned doctorate in a related field is preferred. At the full professor level, extensive college teaching experience, and an earned doctorate in a related field is required.

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hire-on rate is Adjunct Instructor $1,750, Adjunct Assistant Professor $1,850, Adjunct Associate Professor $1,950, Adjunct Professor $2,150.     • BACHELORS DEGREE IN BUSINESS OR RELATED FIELD OR AN EQUIVALENT NUMBER OF YEARS EXPERIENCE IN A SALES REPRESENTATIVE, SALES SUPERVISOR, SALES MANAGER OR OTHER RELEVANT AREA OF WORK FOCUSED ON SALES AND SALES MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES. REQUIRES VERY GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF SALES AND SALES MANAGEMENT PRINCIPLES, WHICH IS TYPICALLY SEEN WITH 4-6 YEARS OF SALES MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE.
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as the person in this role will be responsible for or will assist in proposal development, presentations to internal and external customers and the development of his/her sales representatives.
    • Demonstrates successful selling abilities, including cold calling, as well as strong products and services knowledge as it relates to the printing industry.
    • Good analytical ability in order to conduct comprehensive customer needs analyses, develop recommendations, overcome objections, and create solutions. Requires ingenuity, resourcefulness and creativity.
    • Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently; sets goals and objectives; sets realistic action plans.
    • Takes independent actions and calculated risks; looks for and takes advantage of opportunities; asks for and offers help when needed.
    • Must have the ability to lead, and to create an atmosphere where others can perform at an optimal level.
    • Knowledge of all company policies, procedures and principles of business ethics and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
    • Requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.
