    Job Description

     

    SUMMARY:

    This role requires a flexible and versatile individual who can:

    • Analyze, design, code, test, implement, maintain, and document computer system applications or utilities.
    • The Systems Programmer works on multiple software projects and with multiple operating environments, development utilities, and programming languages. Other duties may be assigned.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

    • Evaluate new or existing processes and provide input on build-or-buy decisions.
    • Effectively communicate with appropriate stakeholders and functional experts.
    • Work with employees and clients to establish comprehensive functional requirements.
    • Design applications to efficiently address business needs.
    • Create and integrate well-constructed, scalable, applications that are easily maintained.
    • Design comprehensive test plans that ensure support for business needs.
    • Perform functional and performance testing of applications.
    • Design and create lucid training and support documentation.
    • Diagnose problems in proprietary applications encountered by production.
    • Provide rapid "work around" solutions to application problems to protect business needs.
    • Safely implement application patches and changes in the production environment.
    • Provide occasional end user support.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Back-end C# .Net Developer with minimum 3 years FT experience

    · SQL required

    · Direct Mail industry experience preferred

    · Familiarity with MS Visual Foxpro preferred

    · Familiarity with EFI Printstream ERP/MIS nice to have

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year College or university; and three years related Direct Mail and Fulfillment industry experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    · Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, postal regulations or governmental regulations.

    · Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

    · Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret spreadsheets. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in non-routine situations. Ability to set and meet deadlines including a strong ability to manage multiple tasks to completion at the same time. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of business data and technical instructions. Ability to quickly adapt to and learn new technologies. Ability to quickly learn and utilize new application programmatic interfaces (API’s).

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the following:

    · ANSI SQL / T-SQL Intermediate to Expert

    · XML / XSL / XPath Intermediate

    · WPF Intermediate

    · Source Control Intermediate

    · Microsoft SQL Server Knowledgeable

    · MS Visual Foxpro (legacy) Knowledgeable

    · EFI Printstream ERP/MIS Knowledgeable

    · Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 – Knowledgeable in at least one

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    · Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.

    · Ability to work extended hours during the week as needed.

    · Ability to work on weekends occasionally as needed.

    · Excellent skill in understanding and carrying out verbal instructions.

    • Excellent skill in communicating verbally to subordinates, co-workers, and supervisors.
    • Advanced knowledge of information security policies, as required and instructed by supervisors.
    • Read and carry out complex written instructions and policies.
