    Job Description

    The Publicity Assistant to EVP, Publicity at Focus Features will assist in all day-to-day administrative tasks including scheduling meetings and conference calls; reconciling PO’s; processing invoices and expense reports; managing press correspondence; coordinating travel arrangements for filmmakers and talent; managing filmmaker and talent publicity schedules; monitoring traditional and new media and compiling publicity breaks; assisting with various research projects.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Administer clerical duties such as correspondence, calendar, travel and expenses, scheduling
    • Coordinate Talent, Filmmaker, and Executive Travel for publicity campaigns: book cars, flights, trains, private charters, and hotels
    • Oversee compilation of breaks from various media sources and distribute breaks, reviews, reactions, and tune-ins to filmmakers and key executives
    • Create, maintain, and send Talent and Filmmaker schedules
    • Liaise and maintain relationships with journalists to pitch interview opportunities, schedule interviews, send screening invitations
    • Assist at press days, press and awards screenings, junkets, premieres, Q&A’s, special events and film festivals. This includes after-hours and weekend events.
    • Create and maintain key publicity documents including master publicity department calendar, film campaign timelines, memos and schedules
    • Monitor social media for relevant breaks, information and activity
    • Organize film screenings for press and representatives
    • Coordinate with Talent reps to arrange hair, makeup and styling and work with glam representatives to negotiate rates
    • Coordinate day-to-day activities of interns and participate in internship recruitment with other assistants
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree (degree in media, journalism or communications is preferred)
    • Minimum of 1-year direct publicity experience as an intern or professional (at an agency, studio or network)

    Eligibility Requirements:

    • Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV online to be considered
    • Must be able to travel and work overtime, and on weekends as necessary
    • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
    • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work as part of a team and independently on assigned projects
    • Motivated self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is skilled at multi-tasking
    • Reliable and resourceful
    • Personable, social and enthusiastic
    • Prior experience working on film publicity and awards campaigns
    • Working knowledge of specialty and independent films
    • A genuine love and affection for film and global pop culture
    • Working knowledge of trends in social media landscape

    Additional Requirements:

    • Hybrid : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
