  • Responsibilities

    Position Description:

    The Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Engineering supports the Dean in their role of leading the College of Engineering. They also supervise the facilities of Gellersen and Fites, working with Facilities Management and Housekeeping to maintain the building. They also support engineering, math, and computer science faculty with special requests.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Support the Dean of Engineering in their daily responsibilities, including scheduling, correspondence, and minute-taking for Engineering Leadership Team meetings and Faculty/Staff meetings.
    • Oversee the College of Engineering budget, including maintaining documentation for all financial transactions, transfers, and budget adjustments.
    • Plan, coordinate, and implement College of Engineering programs, events, and special meetings
    • Coordinate all College of Engineering special projects, renovations, and upgrades.
    • Coordinate all Dean's Office purchasing and printing.
    • Maintain College of Engineering records.

    Required Knowledge and Skills:

    • High school diploma required, college degree or some college preferred.
    • At least four years of experience working in an office environment, including knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing.
    • Should be able to understand financial statements and have experience with database systems.

  • Qualifications

    A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Qualified candidates will have 3-5 years of experience or a technical degree and 1 year of experience. Basic PLC/CNC knowledge is a plus. The ability to read to read tape measures and efficiently operate all other required measuring devices is also required. Candidates best suited for this role will have a proven ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment. Basic ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required for safety purposes.
