Job Overview
We are seeking an Administrative Assistant (Basic) who provides essential clerical and front-desk support for a public transportation organization. This role is responsible for handling routine administrative tasks, supporting daily office operations, and serving as a first point of contact for visitors and callers. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable performing a variety of general office duties in a fast-paced environment. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-4 years of administrative, clerical, or office support experience
- Experience answering and routing multi-line phone systems
- Experience with data entry, filing, and document organization
- Basic experience using office equipment such as copiers, scanners, and fax machines
- Ability to perform typing and general computer tasks accurately
Experience Preferences:
- Experience working in a government, public agency, or transportation-related environment
- Customer service or front-desk/receptionist experience
- Experience handling mail distribution and document management
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds (files, office supplies)
- Frequent use of hands for typing, filing, and operating office equipment
- Ability to bend, reach, and walk within an office environment
