Summary
The Administrator of Holy Cross House is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing all functions and activities, including finances, medical departments, resident care, employee relations, and overall facility operations. This role oversees staff engagement and maintains a positive culture throughout the facility, aligning with Holy Cross Province's mission and policies. Additionally, this position leads various committees at Holy Cross House, including leadership, strategic planning, employee town hall meetings, and individual department meetings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(Include the following: other duties may be assigned.)
· Achieve organizational, financial, and quality objectives for departments as delegated by the Province. Ensures that service lines and programs are responsive to the residents' needs and that quality care is delivered effectively and economically.
· Positively represents and develops positive relationships with outside agencies, families, physicians, and other health care agencies and providers under contract.
· Oversees communication with medical providers, religious team, and staff to ensure that the needs of the residents are addressed, while building trust within the community.
· Manages the census and occupancy to assure we are meeting the needs of medical and assisted living needs of the Province and their guests.
· Assures ongoing and effective communication with residents and family members, and maximizes family awareness of resident needs and constructive engagement of family members in the lives of residents.
· Along with the Director of Community Life and Health, develop and implement written policies and procedures that reflect the goals and objectives of the community.
· Assist in monitoring Human Resource practices to ensure compliance with employment laws and organizational policies, and the pursuit of practices that promote high morale, recruitment, and staff retention.
· Monitor the operation of assigned departments, functions, activities, and other related areas, communicate policies, evaluate performance, provide feedback and assist, observe, coach, and discipline as necessary.
· Assist in the preparation of an annual operating budget for approval by the Province's Finance Committee and allocate the resources to carry out programs and activities at Holy Cross House. Include labor costs, operational supplies, and expenses.
· Delegate authority, responsibility, and accountability to department heads.
· Participate in educational workshops, seminars, and meetings to keep abreast of current changes in the healthcare field, as well as to maintain professional status.
· Ensure that the campus is clean and safe for residents’ comfort and convenience and that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained to perform such duties/services. Ensures that universal precautions, infection control, fire safety, and sanitation practices and procedures are followed.

Education and/or Experience
· A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 3 years of relevant long-term care management experience.
· An active HFA
· Experience with a faith-based, not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community is preferred.

· In-depth knowledge of licensure rules and regulations.

This position requires variable work hours (often exceeding a typical 40-hour work week) that may include weekends and holidays, as the position is on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As such, this position is subject to callbacks in the event of emergencies.

The work environment involves collaborating with the Congregation and, at times, family members to provide direct care for elderly residents suffering from various stages of illness. As a result, the work environment can be stressful and emotionally sensitive, potentially leading to unfavorable interactions in the workplace. This position is exposed to various infectious wastes, diseases, conditions, and hazardous chemicals.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

PTO begins to accrue immediately upon hire and becomes available for use after 90 days of employment.
