Position Summary
The Admissions & Billing Coordinator plays a central role in ensuring smooth patient onboarding and accurate, timely billing operations. This position supports both clinical and administrative teams by coordinating referrals, managing admission workflows, verifying insurance, and overseeing billing processes.
This is a full‑time, in‑person role based in our Corrales office.
Key Responsibilities
Admissions Coordination
Receive, review, and process incoming referrals from hospitals, clinics, and community partners.
Communicate with referral sources, patients, and families to gather required information.
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for all new admissions.
Coordinate with clinical leadership to schedule start‑of‑care visits.
Prepare and maintain admission packets, consent forms, and required documentation.
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and payer‑specific regulations during the intake process.
Maintain accurate and organized patient records in the EMR.
Billing & Revenue Cycle Management
· Monitor claim status, follow up on denials, and process corrections or resubmissions.
Communicate with payers to resolve billing issues or discrepancies.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Home Health billing requirements and regulatory changes.
Generate billing reports and assist with month‑end financial processes.
General Office & Team Support
Serve as a friendly, professional point of contact for patients, families, and community partners.
Support clinical staff with documentation tracking and compliance tasks.
Assist with quality assurance activities as needed.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
Serve as a back-up to answering phone and office front desk coverage.
Qualifications
Required
Experience in Home Health, hospice, or healthcare administration.
Knowledge of insurance verification and medical billing processes.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Proficiency with EMR systems and basic office software.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
Experience with Medicare Home Health billing (RAPs/NOAs, final claims, OASIS‑related billing).
Familiarity with New Mexico Medicaid and regional payers.
Prior work in a small or nurse‑owned agency environment.
