Transportation Erosion Control Inspector
Job Description
Our current large-scale construction project needs an additional experienced NPDES inspector. The project is located in the Sandy Springs area, and this position is primarily needed on site. Candidate should be located conveniently near the project area. The position will be part-time to full-time, with on-site inspections followed by documentation from home or our Duluth office. The schedule will fluctuate with conditions but generally will involve a full day on Mondays and/or Wednesdays for inspections. Field work may include occasional Saturdays and Sundays when rain conditions require inspection. Options can be worked out to allow other weekdays off when weekend work is required. The candidate should be familiar with NPDES permit requirements, particularly Georgia’s GAR100002. The role will join weekly inspections with other staff (Mondays and Wednesdays) and be available for sampling, parts of daily inspections, and post-storm inspections.
Our ecologists and environmental staff will work closely with this position along with subconsultants to conduct the daily, weekly, and monthly inspections required. Many of our staff work remotely, while we connect with virtual meetings and company activities weekly.
The ideal candidate will have complementary skills to balance fieldwork and technical analysis with documentation and smartphone/iPad technology. We will provide training, guidance, project orientation, and weekly team preparations for the inspections. Company vehicle may be available for on-site work; must be comfortable navigating traffic in construction zone including frequent stops and off-road access. The project assignment will last 18-24 months. W-2 employee status with part time to full-time status 24 to 40 hours per week.
