SOFTWARE DEVELOPER / DEVOPS ENGINEER - ALISO VIEJO, CA

AWM SMART SHELF is reinventing retail and looking for smart, talented people to work on building exciting applications. The initial focus of this position is working on AWM Frictionless which is a cashierless-shopping solution for shoppers to be able to grab what they want from a store and simply walk out.

Our solution uses real-time computer vision and deep learning to determine what shoppers take. We're looking for an experienced Software Developer / DevOps Engineer with a deep understanding of Linux to help us build automation tools and design/maintain networking architecture, among other things.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build automation tools, pipelines, and continuous integration workflows
• Design and maintain networking architecture for deployments
• Build, deploy, maintain, and document our Kubernetes infrastructure

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Must have expert understanding of Linux including system installs, network configuration, kernels, systems, troubleshooting
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Kubeflow
• Experience with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet or equivalent
• Fluency in Python
• Experience and understanding using centralized monitoring tools
• Experience deploying networking as code
• Experience with network infrastructure design, troubleshooting, and implementation
• Experience with Kafka

NICE TO HAVES

• Understanding of a development language (C, C++, or C#)
• Experience with object-oriented design and implementation
• Experience developing network or database interface applications
• Experience with both relation and nonrelational databases (MySQL, Cassandra)
• Experience with front end development (JavaScript)
• Strong understanding of security and privacy fundamentals - All phases of security and privacy including controls, application ID, threat identification and prevention methods, encryption, IPSec and PKI architecture
• Networked Storage technologies (MinIO, S3, Ceph, NAS)
• Local and Networked File Systems (NFS, SMB, DFS, NTFS)
• Network theory and services (TCP/IP, UDP/IP, 7 layers of OSI, DNS, DHCP)
• Network Architecture Experience
• Grafana/Prometheus Experience
• SQL Experience
• Apache Airflow Experience
• Azure, AWS, or GCP experience
